Following my recent knee surgery (ACL Reconstruction and Meniscus Repair), I was referred for a series of treatments at OrthoLazer by my Orthopedic Surgeon. At first I was a little skeptical about this course of treatment, as I was not familiar with Cryo-Lazer Therapy and initially was only focused on traditional icing and physical therapy for my recovery plan. After reviewing some very insightful information provided to me directly from the clinic, along with navigating their website, patient reviews, and conducting independent research on the benefits of Lazer-Therapy, I felt more confident and educated regarding the procedure. While this had been my very first surgical procedure, and I did not have a prior recovery to compare this experience to, I can say that the differences and improvements I noticed even just after my first two sessions were enough to convince me to follow-through with the full course of treatments as recommended.Prior to the start of my OrthoLazer treatments, I began to feel a level of helplessness with the amount pain, discomfort, and swelling I was dealing with, and was heavily relying on the use of oral pain medication (including my prescribed opioid) as a means to achieve some relief. In addition, I was spending nearly the entire 24 hours of each day lying down due to the discomfort and lack of mobility I had incurred, but also had a severe sense of anxiety to the thought of possibly falling should I try to get up and move around.Fast forward just over two weeks from when I received my first treatment to my final (sixth) one of my initial treatment plan. I haven’t had to take any pain medication in weeks, I have already been able to ween myself down to the use of just one crutch, and have gained so much independence and confidence back in my ability to get up and move around on my own, and take care of myself with very minimal assistance.Again, while I cannot compare these results to any prior surgical recovery experience, the significant improvements I saw once I began treatment have been enough to make me a believer. As a very active adult, between the demands of my job, my passion for health and fitness, and my participation in adult flag football leagues, I am seriously considering continuing periodic treatments in the future as a means to maintain a healthy and active pain-free lifestyle.:)
